Icey Day in IOWA
Wow, what a day. Knew we were going to get hit with an ice storm, but I thought I would be able to make it to work. Boy, was I wrong. I had to get the salt out to put down the ramp, to make it to the car. The car was warming up, I ate my granola bar for breakfast. Still I had to scrape ice from the windows, before backing out of the driveway. When I called in to check if there were alot of weather related calloffs, I told the girl I was going to attempt and I could be late. I live across town from my work place. Well, I attempted and I did not feel safe so I turned around. Guess what munchies are setting in. So, I choose an apple to eat. I made chicken salad incase we loose our electricity like so many people are without right now in my hometown of Ottumwa. So, I did taste it. Then I decided to get my exercises done for the Hot Rod Team. I decided to get 2 miles in on the excercise bike. I told my mom if I knew of somebody without power I could hook the generator up to the bike and really get in my excercise. OK, I have to keep my mind off of the bad work FOOD. Because, I’m not wanting it to satisfy hunger, I’m wanting it to satisfy boredom.

Recognizing what’s going on is the first step!! Way to go!! You keep hanging in there. Find anything else to do while you’re iced in. Post to blogs, clean house, iron clothes, whatever!! I tell myself I will not eat until x o’clock and that’s final. Meanwhile, do something nice for yourself that’s not food related–read a good magazine article, paint your toenails, give yourself a facial. And have a great day!!!!!
PS: I’ll send some warmth up from Alabama for you!!
Dont let the munchies take control
Those munchies are dangerous ! We have yucky, icy roads here too but our kids still went to school ! I guess they don’t want to have a snow day ! You sound like you have kept yourself a little bit busy anyway ! No matter what you do don;t give into those munchies ! You’ll regret it later ! Kimmi
Munching out of boredom is not a good thing but easy to do. We missed the ice but it’s been raining. I hope things are better for you tomorrow.
the cravings WILL go after awhile, just keep riding them out. Good luck in all that ice and write, write , write
